Fire tug boat built 1903

nmgl.org/tug-ohio/ The vessel now known as the Museum Tug Ohio was originally used as a fire tug. Built in Chicago, IL by the Shipowner’s Dry Dock Company in 1903, the MFDS 15 was for use in Milwaukee along its busy waterfront. She housed three pumps made by the American Fire Pump Company of Seneca Falls, New York, that could spray 9,000 gallons of water per minute. She was 106 feet in length, ...

amazing
When Hudson's left downtown and the 67 riot were the days l never felt the same about Detroit and still dont. We have a great caring mayor now but the bus situation is still bad like it always was. I will always love and remember the 1950s and 1960s of Detroit the most beautiful times of my life.
When did you see the actual falls part?
That's the best view from the ren cen
@@antonioguglielmetti2661 I agree. It was a cloudy day that day but still nice. Sunny days or sunsets are better. You don't need reservations at the Highlands for the bary area or appetizer table area to the right. We ate at the restaurant. I've enjoyed eating here since it was the original Sunmit. The food and service is amazing. My favorite place to dine in metro Detroit.
@@TheGreatOutdoorsyeah but you need reservations for that view right? The bar only faces Canada and the coasts
@@antonioguglielmetti2661 I'd say yes. The dinner area where reservations are needed faces down the river (leading to Lake Erie), the two international bridges, Old Cobo Hall/Hunington Place, and downtown Detroit, i.e. business district. The area to the right of the elevators where there are tables for drinks and appetizers and no reservations faces up the river (towards Lake St. Clair), Belle Isle, a view of Lake St. Clair (Peche Island), the river front area of Detroit, Lafayette Towers, and, as you noted, a more direct view of Canada. 👍 I used to go here in the 80s when it still spun around/rotated 360 degrees. 😊 And then in the 90s when there was still a movie theater on a lower floor. I lived down the street in the Jefferson Avenue/Seminole area. Great memories.
I think next time, if you explain as you go, that would work better. Captains quarters are identifiable for old hands, but some just see a blue jacket with some gold stripes on it! The wheel house was cool, as well as the galley and crews mess. Are you able to go out on the bridge wings? Any way, overall good job! If ever I am in Toledo, I’ll stop by and spend an afternoon aboard! Thanks for the tour!
_Cool and beautiful footage._
Wow crackhead Ed and crackhead Carlos wasn't featured.

Is the Jet Express II returning from Put-In-Bay? Where were you at feeding the assortment of animals out your vehicle window?
Yep. And in all these years I've visited Port Clinton, I haven't been to put in bay. Someday. The African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton is a drive through zoo. 😊😉
What kind of cow is it
@@orfun61 Brown. 😁

Do one canoeing Hines park
I've kayaked many area of Hines Park from Plymouth the Dearborn.
Doesn't GM already own and occupy several other buildings in Detroit? Why do they need to build yet another building? What's wrong with the others and will the old buildings simply rot away because no one else can, or wants to, afford to maintain such buildings? I disapprove of GM thumbing their noses at America!
I sure hope the Ren Cen continues. I've been going there since it was built by Henry Ford II around 1977. I used to eat at the Summit on top, later renamed Coach Insignia and now The Highlands. Incredible views and food as is Joe Muers. I've watched the fireworks in it, the Grand Prix, stayed at the hotel inside, used to go to the movies ther in the 90s. GM owned 5 of the 7 towers since 1996. They almost moved out in 2009 to go to the Warren Tech Center during the U.S. financial crisis but fed administration talked them into stayig. It defines the downtown Detroit skyline. It's five million square feet of space, twice as much as the Empire State Building. GM has been occupying only 1.5 towers for years now. They'll occupy just a portion of Dan Gilbert's new Hudson's Tower. So many remote and hybrid workers now. Dan Gilbert, Mary Barra, Mayor Duggan will be key. It's so nice to walk and bike the riverfront and enter the Ren Cen from the walk and get a quick coffee at Panara right inside, walk around, have a bite to eat. I love the place and find it's architecture as modern today as 1980. ❤
It's Beautiful
That is probably the US Coast Guard Cutter Bristol Bay. Its Homeport is Detroit. It is a 140-foot Icebreaking tug. I served on it in the latter 1980s. I looked again it's the Morrow Bay.
Thanks! Finally found it. www.atlanticarea.uscg.mil/Our-Organization/District-9/Ninth-District-Staff/Prevention-Division/Cutters/MORRO-BAY/ CGC MORRO BAY (WTGB-106) is a 140 foot Bay Class Icebreaking Tug homeported in Cleveland, OH. Unit missions include Icebreaking, Homeland Security, Light House projects, Law Enforcement, and Public Affairs. CGC MORRO BAY serves throughout the entire Great Lakes system and has earned the nickname "Jack of All Trades." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCGC_Morro_Bay
When was last time they refreshed rooms?
It's beautiful in St. Ignace, but the water is cooold! 🥶
What!? Must have been awesome to be there!
@@DianeG208 it was a wonderful concert. The Teskey Brothers have incredible soul. Closest I've heard to Otis Reddings. Was worth the three hour stand 😆
Is this right across six mile from U of D Mercy? Looks familiar. I was born (at Mt. Carmel Mercy in the mid-fifties and lived my first four years right across from Marygrove College. After that, Birmingham until HS graduation. Oh so long ago... BTW, what a beautiful and unique church! Seems the general architectural style used in U of D spilled over to the north side of six mile for three blocks or so. What a wonderful part of town.`
@@MrFullService It sure is. 6 mile across the street. Both my parents graduated from U of D. Church was built around 1934. I read the church is a modern adaptation of Spanish Mission architecture. Not that I know what that is 😊 I enjoyed a nice mass there that day. 🙏
Can you fish on the shore here?
I would think so. It didn't seem to me to have any restrictions.
14:57 was atrocious………….
It's lighten first, thunder second and the bats who chow down on mosquitos!!

HOOOLLLYY SHIT. I'm.SICK that I had to miss it because of something LAME like work. Thank you for posting!!
Yea. %&@ happens. It was a great concert. Everyone there were great. Excellent venue. Teskey Brothers delivered. 🎶 On to the next great concert whatever that may be 😊
Thanks for sharing was at amazing concert Michigan mama was in the house. Luv luv the Teskey Brothers 💙
Just subbed and shared. Thanks for this.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Was at amazing amazing show thanks for posting 💙🙏 so glad they came to Michigan in the D💙
I completely agree. Awesome concert!
❤️🔥Teskey Bros.❤️🔥
Fantastic show. I'm jealous of you all on the floor, as the balcony feels so detached from the action. But my son and I did get to meet Josh and Sam before the show! So that was epic
I agree. We really enjoyed the show. Another band even better in person than any album or UA-cam video. What a voice! First time in the Filmore. Wasn't sure if the floor/general admission was the way to go as I like to sit for concerns. Had to stand an hour to get in to the filmore (wanted to be able to claim a desirable spot) then stand several more hours during the concert. We made it lol. Decided to stand against the rail up a step versus against the stage. All in all, we had a great time and love the Teskey Brothers. That's some serious soul.
My kind of party U gotta love it!
Raised in snotty Plymouth then moved to the east side and worked in the auto industry for 30 years. Loved Detroit, the river front, Greek town, Tiger stadium, Joe Lewis, Cobo Hall and of course the top of the Ren Cen. Now I live in the U.P. where I love the open space but revisit Detroit a lot on You Tube!
I completely understand. Lived and spent decades in Detroit. Was just the Raven Lounge on the east side last night for live blues (Chene and Warren). But Aldo just spent five days in thr U.P. and loved it...the space, peace, beauty. Was at Tahquamenon Falls, Grand Marais, Manistique, Whitefish Point, etc.
Grew up going to concerts here 30+ years ago. Today... not good viewing from the Hill. Pavilion seating only way to go but 3x more $. The Hill is basically a big party. Not sure it's a venue for me anymore. But bands are good.
This is bullshit. totally ruined a tour of the b29 with the walkways and plexiglass barrier. Go see Doc or FIFI
TY for posting the exterior of this charming motel in St Ignace, MI
_An awesome performance._
yes... nice video of their success
did the person ever get up
Yea. They were getting better/up.
Very nice downtown. Beautiful view. Nice restaurants and shopping. Quick stop to Sable Falls. 😊
Amazing wind.
I think at night it would change colors, didn't it?
They should do that but I don't think they do. Not 100% sure. They sure do that great at the famous fountain in Grant/Millennium Park in Chicago on Michigan Avenue.
@@TheGreatOutdoors Pretty :) Have a nice week
Man it’s gorgeous. Only been to Michigan once . It gets a bad rep from the cities but it’s beautiful in the country.
Certainly a great viewpoint. Enjoy.
What a gorgeous day. That's niceit's still an attraction for people to see

I was there a few years ago that we didn't stay overnight just went for the day it was very beautiful and they have wagons pulled by big workhorses the take around the island it was very beautiful
